Growing and developing our community is at the heart of Austell. In 2020, the company launched the Al-Noor Foundation as a way to make a difference in the lives of Austell employees and the community at large through healthcare, educational, and social responsibility initiatives. The foundation has various community projects that it participates in throughout the year, each with the purpose of uplifting the community in different ways.
Through this foundation, the company supports clinics across South Africa with essential drugs for the communities that the clinics care for. During the Covid pandemic, the foundation also donated chloroquine phosphate to the South African government in support of the nation’s fight against the pandemic.
The Austell Essential Procedure Fund also supports patients who would not ordinarily qualify for essential medical procedures e.g., dialysis for patients who are over the age of 60 without private health insurance.
Austell is serious about investing in the future of the country and therefore, has various educational programs that they support through the Al-Noor Foundation. The Al-Noor Student Bursary Fund supports students who would otherwise not have the economic means to complete a tertiary qualification.
The foundation also supports a school adoption fund that supports schools in underprivileged communities by providing the critical resources that are required to enable the development of future leaders in South Africa. Additionally, the Austell library fund was established to provide underprivileged schools and communities with turnkey library solutions.
The Al-Noor Welfare Fund is dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of families by donating staple food items to communities and families in need across South Africa.
